The Corpse Played Dead Book

All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players…

Prostitute Lizzie Hardwicke accepts an opportunity to step out of her life in the bawdy house and begin an undercover assignment for the Bow Street magistrate. Her temporary position as a costume seamstress on Drury Lane places her behind the scenes. She realises that what goes on in the wings is far more intriguing than the theatrics on stage…

When a man is brutally hanged at once theatre and Lizzie discovers the body, she is once again thrown together with handsome Inspector Will Davenport. Lizzie will have to use every trick she’s hidden up her sleeves to bring the culprit into the spotlight.

I loved everything about this ingenious story! It is every bit as sparkling and twisty as the first book – Celia Anderson, author of 59 Memory Lane.
